Geelong Woodcraft Exhibition in its 29th year

This years’ Woodcraft Exhibition promises to be one of the best ever with demonstrations of woodturning, scroll sawing, spoon making, wood carving, pyrography and much more.

The Exhibition, organised by the Barwon Valley Woodwrights Association, will be held on

Saturday November 16th and Sunday November 17th at the Anglican Church Hall, corner of Moorabool and McKillop Sts. Geelong
(Adults $5.00, Children free).

Association Secretary, Dallas Polley says everyone who would like to know more about working with wood is invited to come along.
“The Woodcraft Exhibition is a great opportunity to browse the wide range of items, created by members, showing how wood can be used in a variety of different ways, and those attending can also discuss with experienced woodworkers how to create their very own pieces using the natural beauty of wood” he said.
You can also find out about the many types of wood and their uses as representatives of various companies associated with woodworking will be attending. “Experts will be on hand to demonstrate various woodworking techniques, answer your questions and give you helpful tips and hints” Dallas added.

With many of the exhibits for sale, it’s also an opportunity to pick up a special, hand-made Christmas gift that won’t break the bank.
What’s more there will be free hands-on activities for the kids, plus a sausage sizzle and refreshments will be available. For 29 years The Barwon Woodwrights Association has been catering for those interested in a variety of woodworking techniques.
New members are always welcome, young and old, male and female from absolute beginners to more advanced woodworkers .
